U-Drive are looking for an HR Officer/ Co-ordinator with bags of integrity and empathy (and a sense of humour!) to join the Head Office team as the primary point of contact for all HR matters within the business. This is a hands-on role, seeing you integrating with all teams across the business and branches, providing oversight and supervision of all HR functions in a generalist capacity. This permanent position (40 hours per week Monday-Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm).
Role Overview
As the HR Officer/Coordinator at U-Drive, your role will involve managing a diverse set of HR administrative tasks, as well as upholding our company's policies, procedures, and objectives. Additionally, you'll play a key role in ensuring the continuous progress and welfare of our employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the employer's business objectives and existing HR policies
- Onboard new starters and verify the eligibility of prospective staff to work
- Evaluate training needs in collaboration with department managers
- Plan and occasionally conduct training sessions, including inductions
- Collaborate with various stakeholders on policy matters, such as staff performance and health and safety
- Formulate and implement policies addressing working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management
- Advise line managers on the effective implementation of policies and procedures
- Foster a company culture that champions equality and diversity
- Address grievances and execute disciplinary procedures
- Manage staff welfare and administrative activities
- Conduct salary reviews and oversee redundancy processes
- Provide guidance on compensation and other benefits
- Develop and maintain staff handbooks and manage employee records

- You will be skilled in compiling and interpreting statistical data, presenting it professionally and comprehensibly
- You will be confident influencing, negotiating and implementing personnel policies
- You will be comfortable working effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks concurrently and prioritising workload
- Administrative expertise with strong IT skills
- CIPD Level 5 qualification beneficial
